I created my first pen as a way to learn how to use a lathe and the tools to cut with. I bought a tub with $200 worth of materials and tools for $25 bucks. The first pen I made had a really beautiful knot that look just like a mathematical equal sign. I could not resist the need to name such a magnificent piece of art. Thus was born the tradition of naming all my pens.
